Do you need to be legally trained to become a Mediator?

Having skills and experience in negotiating, counselling, customer relations etc are more important to becoming a good mediator.

How much training does a person need for Mediation Training?

How much does a Mediator earn?
An experienced Civil and Workplace Mediator can expect to earn in excess of £100,000 per year. But it largely depends on the individual and the work/life balance they are looking to achieve.
How do I start being a Mediator?
Our mediation training courses provide delegates with useful marketing tips to help them get started in establishing their own mediation practice and generating work.
What happens once I’ve completed the course?
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates must observe or take part in a number of mediation sessions (approx. 3) to earn 10 observation points. This will allow them to register with the applicable registration body such as the Civil Mediation Council or Family Mediation Council as an accredited mediator.
A mediator must do at least 15 hours of mediating each year to renew and maintain their accreditation with the CMC.
Do you provide career opportunities once the course is completed?
Delegates can choose to join our register of civil mediators. Unlike any other mediation training provider, we have large contracts with organisations both nationally and internationally and we regularly use individuals from our register of mediators to facilitate those mediation contracts.
Because we are not just a mediation provider, but also a mediation practice, we can give our delegates additional opportunities, other training providers can’t.
Why do you need training in handling mediation?
Helping people to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements is a very complex process involving many facets of psychology, law and business. If done badly, it can have disastrous far reaching consequences. If handled by a highly skilled, trained mediator, individuals in dispute have a far greater chance of finding a resolution.
Companies and individuals who are looking to resolve their disputes through mediation are looking for trained accredited mediators. Accredited mediation training is essential for anyone who wants to have a lucrative and fulfilling career in the field of dispute resolution.
